Arboricultural Inspector

Glen Eira City Council is looking for a Arboricultural Inspector to join our Parks department. The Arboricultural Inspector is responsible for maintaining the health and amenity of Council's tree assets, and ensuring the safety of the community;

You will also provide arboricultural reports and advice to internal and external clients supervise contractors and occasionally staff to undertake tree pruning and maintenance activities, to ensure services are delivered in a safe, efficient and professional manner. Aside from customer requests and contract supervision, the arborist will prepare reports for Town Planning and Council's Assets Engineers prepare vegetation assessments prior to Parkland renewal and undertake tree risk inspections where infrastructure is damaged by trees.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Diploma/Degree of High Level National accreditation in Arboriculture/ Horticulture combined with relevant experience in tree management.
  • Knowledge and experience of Visual Tree Assessment, identification of potential risk including tree management principles and practises.
  • Demonstrated high level of competence in tree related projects along with  interacting with staff and managing contract works
  • Experience in utilisation of tree related asset management systems
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Traffic worksite management knowledge to comply with relevant codes and regulations. 
  • Victorian Drivers Licence is essential.
