Parks Presentation Team Leader

An opportunity exists for a Parks Presentation Team Leader to lead Council’s Parks Presentation Service. 

Banyule has a wealth of open space and parklands. The department is responsible for the care and development of over 200 parks and reserves 50 sports field, 163 playgrounds, over 75,000 street trees, extensive shared trail networks, as well as park furniture and assets that enhance the urban landscape and create a more attractive and liveable environment.

As Parks Presentation Team Leader, you will play an important role to ensure Banyule’s parks, gardens and open space areas are maintained at a high standard to ensure the community continues to enjoy the positive benefits of being surrounded by “greenspace”.

  • As a key leader you will play a vital role in supervising the following teams, Gardening, Mowing, Tractor and Weed control to ensure programmed maintenance works are completed to specification.
  • In this role you will provide expert advice and report on the Council’s assets and assist the coordination of recurrent and new works and services.  

 To be successful you will need:

  • A Diploma in Horticulture or similar tertiary qualification with substantial experience
  • Demonstrated competence and ability to manage, lead and mentor a team
  • Experience in Local Government operations and services open space operations activities
  • Ability to provide concise written technical and advisory reports
  • An understanding of the relevant legislative codes and practices and their application
  • The ability to implement procedures for measuring, costing and recording to achieve effective budget control
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • COVID Vaccination Certificate

 Pre employment medical check is required for this role.

 Benefits:

  • Salary range $89,269.36 to $97,051.83 plus super
  • Permanent full time 38 hours per week & monthly RDO
