Solar Officer

Help Council achieve an ambitious program of solar projects and help deliver on the corporate greenhouse gas emissions Net Zero 2028 target.

Experienced in delivering community facing solar projects, you will report to the Senior Energy Officer within the Environment Team and be supported by a team of passionate and outstanding environmental sustainability professionals.

YOU WILL

  • Be the key driver for delivering on Council’s Solar on Leased Facilities program
  • Lead engagement with community building users to promote the take up of the Solar on Leased Facilities program
  • Work cross functionally with Major Projects, Property, Building Maintenance, Operations, Leisure, Finance, Major Facilities teams

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer focused role, and in leading or overseeing solar projects
  • A degree or diploma in environmental science, environmental engineering or related discipline
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills including technical report writing for non-technical audiences
  • Proficient in Excel, and strong proficiency in Word and records management
  • Knowledge and understanding of climate change mitigation science and policy and technological developments
  • A current driver’s licence

WE CAN OFFER

  • Salary Range $86,182.74 to $93,696.04 (pro-rata) plus super
  • Temporary part time position, 22.80 hours per week
  • 26 July 2021 to 25 July 2022
