The University of Sydney’s new weed research and development program is being established at IA Watson Grains Research Centre, Narrabri. With substantial investment from the Grains Research and Development Corporation this program will establish a major weeds research and development program at Narrabri where the focus will be on the development of new weed control technologies.
The Narrabri site was founded just over 50 years ago and has a long history of crop research. With new office and laboratory facilities, and the acquisition of additional land, there is now substantial research and development capacity. New investments at the centre have positioned this facility to take a lead role in agronomic research for grain production in the Northern Region.

In this role you will provide essential technical professional support to researchers and students in the conduct of weed research pot and field trials. You will also coordinate the daily operation of research trial activities, undertaking routine analysis, data collection and sample processing in accordance with established procedures/standards. Additionally you will collect and record qualitative data in preparation for analysis by research staff.

In this role you will provide technical weed research support through the establishment and maintenance of pot and field trials, plant sample processing, equipment maintenance and, under direction, the collection of research data.
