Floodplain and River Health Projects Coordinator
 

The Goulburn Broken CMA is excited to offer this important role to deliver on the future of Floodplain Management and River Health projects in the Goulburn Broken Catchment.

We encourage applications from people with the passion, demonstrated track record and technical knowledge to assist the Goulburn Broken CMA to achieve its floodplain management and statutory obligations whilst ensuring integration into broader river and wetland health strategies.  The role focuses on development and implementation of the regional floodplain management strategy, including implementation and project delivery.  The position ultimately facilitates regional land use planning to reduce flooding risk and damages including input into planning schemes, responding to planning referrals, providing flood advice and helping resolve planning issues. The role also coordinates and delivers complex projects in floodplain management and river and wetland health.

The successful applicant will be an experienced professional with proven abilities in floodplain management and river and wetland health projects. Applicants will need to demonstrate their knowledge and skill in working with regional land use planning, local government, and partners to create long term floodplain management outcomes together with their ability to negotiate and consult with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

Essentials for the position include qualifications in engineering or an allied discipline and extensive experience in the successful delivery of a range of floodplain and river health projects and/or programs. The position is offered ideally as a full-time role on a fixed term basis for a period of 3 years.
