Technical Director – Hydropower

Want to bring ideas to life?

As an engineer you’re no doubt aware of Aurecon – we’ve been a leading design, engineering and advisory company for decades. But why should you choose to join us?

Every project Aurecon delivers leaves a legacy. Every project has sustainability embedded in decision making. And every project is at the leading-edge of technical eminence.

But it really comes down to one, crucial question: what kind of world do you want to create for the next generation? Truth is, the decisions being made right now will determine the future of everything – from the local community to the entire planet. One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for?

How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

You will take a lead role in developing and delivering our Hydropower and Pumped Hydro Energy Storage (PHES) offering within Aurecon’s Energy business. You will work closely with colleagues in adjacent markets and capabilities such as Water, Construction, and Infrastructure to form multi-disciplinary teams to advise our clients on the development and implementation of hydro and PHES projects across the entire development lifecycle. Roles include technical advisory, owner’s engineer, technical due diligence, detailed design as part of EPC or D&C project delivery and more.

We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will need to have in order to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering preferred
  • 20+ years of industry experience
  • Project management training and capability
  • Deep technical knowledge across hydro and PHES schemes from both a design and construction implementation viewpoint
  • Demonstrated international track record of project delivery
  • Ability to lead and develop a service offering, lead projects as well as collaborate effectively with other professionals

We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved through bringing together diverse teams of people from across our business, so there will be opportunities for you to apply your skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets.
