DAMS & TREATMENT OPERATOR
(Permanent Full Time – 76 hrs/9 day fortnight)

The Position

Located in Northern NSW, Rous Water is the regional water supply authority providing potable water in bulk to the Council areas of Lismore (excluding Nimbin), Ballina (excluding Wardell), Byron (excluding Mullumbimby) and Richmond Valley (excluding land to the west of Coraki). 

Based at the Nightcap Water Treatment Plant, this position is part of Rous Water’s Dams and Treatment Assets Team.  With specific responsibility for the operation and maintenance of Council’s water sources and advanced water treatment plants, this team works to meet agreed service levels for our Constituent Councils and retail customers.

This is a permanent full time position, and will require the incumbent to participate in an on-call roster for after-hours duty. 

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant will have attained a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (or equivalent) with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a water treatment facilities or similar role.

As a member of the dams and treatment team you will be reliable and require a strong commitment to working as part of a team, with the ability to work autonomously to meet agreed levels of service.  You will require strong interpersonal and communication skills, when dealing with other staff and members of the community.

Conditions of Employment

Salary range between $52,500 - $61,400 per annum (plus Superannuation) in addition to attractive working conditions provided by the Local Government State Award (including a 9 day fortnight). A satisfactory health assessment is a pre-requisite to an offer of employment.
