Option to work under a 19 day month arrangement

This is a dynamic role at one of Australia's most progressive and sustainable local government authorities. The City of Sydney encourages design excellence and environmental sustainability as key elements of its Sustainable Sydney 2030 vision.

Our Urban Design and Heritage team provides expert advice to internal and external stakeholders at all stages in the development assessment process.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated heritage specialist to join our team and work to maintain the heritage significance of Australia's oldest city by ensuring that good heritage conservation outcomes are integrated into the design of new developments.

You will have tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Heritage Conservation, Urban Planning, Archaeology or a related discipline with extensive experience in heritage conservation, including the design and documentation of building conservation projects and the preparation and use of Conservation Management Plans. You will also have a well-developed ability to research, analyse and solve complex and sensitive development issues.

Excellent communication skills are required for negotiation with internal and external parties and the preparation of comprehensive reports. You will need to meet strict deadlines, balance and respond flexibly to competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
