A new virtual reality program developed in WA takes students on an immersive journey through the cells of plants.

The Virtual Plant Cell (VPC) program takes cutting-edge virtual reality technology into the classroom to provide a unique interactive educational experience.

VPC takes students into the microscopic world of cells, but also links to real-world agricultural challenges and research efforts to adapt plants for the future.

VPC project leader Karina Price said VR can help overcome past challenges with teaching cell biology.

“With Classroom VPC, we’re also building science understanding, helping students develop skills and inspiring career aspirations toward the critical areas of agriculture and our future food production,” Ms Price said.
