The Federal Government has reported that 1800 manufacturing businesses have registered to attend information sessions for the $1 billion Clean Technology Investment programs, with the first session completed in Sydney earlier this week.

 

The $800 million Clean Technology Investment Program and the $200 million Clean Technology Food and Foundries Investment Program offer assistance for emissions intensive companies invest in clean energy technologies, processes and products.

 

Federal Minister for Industry and Innovation, Greg Combet, said that the level of interest in the programs was an encouraging sign for future development.

“The Clean Technology Investment Programs will help individual manufacturers to strengthen the future of the industry and reduce their carbon emissions,” Mr Combet said.
 
“The programs will support manufacturers to become more energy efficient, more competitive and more sustainable. 

 

Information sessions will continue in coming weeks within capital cities. Additional sessions will also be held in regional centers across the country over the coming months.

 

The Clean Technology Investment Programs are part of the Gillard Labor Government’s comprehensive Clean Energy Future package.
