The Federal Government has announced a $3.3 million in grant funding for early and mod career researchers in solar technology.

Federal Minister for Resources and Energy, Martin Ferguson, joined some of the grant recipients at the Australian Solar Institute’s ‘The Science of Communication’ workshop earlier this week.

Speaking at the event, Mr Ferguson said the grants would help drive careers and development of the next generation of solar technology experts.

“The Program leverages Australia’s existing leadership in developing and commercialising new technologies by nurturing people with the capacity to develop solutions that improve the competitiveness of renewable energy technologies and increase their supply in Australia,” Mr Ferguson said.

The $3.3 million will be shared between 11 recipients, and will join an existing group of 31 researchers working to advance photovoltaic and concentrating solar power technologies.
